The practice of pressing flowers and botanicals — capturing them at their peak and preserving them flat against paper — has existed across both Eastern and Western traditions for centuries. In China, the art of biāoběn (标本), the botanical specimen, was a form of careful observation: to press a flower was to study it, to honour the precision of its form, to hold a moment of natural beauty still long enough to truly see it.

Yìng translates that practice directly onto fabric. Across an ivory ground, individual botanical specimens are scattered freely: deep burgundy poppies, violet pansies, blush cosmos, golden marigolds, green leaves, seed pods, and slender grass stems, each one rendered with the watercolour softness of a naturalist's sketchbook. No two clusters are alike. The print does not repeat in any predictable way. It drifts across the cloth the way a collection of pressed flowers drifts across the pages of a well-loved journal, intimate, unhurried, and deeply personal.

The silhouette is classic and considered. A relaxed short-sleeve button-front shirt with a revere collar, paired with easy shorts. White lace trim at the sleeve cuffs and along the hem of the shorts introduces a delicacy that sits in quiet conversation with the botanical print. THE DESIGN LANGUAGE

The ink wash mountain on Xún belongs to the two-thousand-year tradition of shuǐmò huà (水墨画), where what is left unpainted carries as much meaning as what is not.

The bamboo on Yáo is the motif of the Chinese literati, chosen across centuries not for its beauty but for what it stood for: resilience, elegance, a character that needs no explanation. The scattered florals, the classical brocade, the botanical specimens, the leopard — each one located within a specific cultural moment, brought forward with intention.
