The name 春和景明 comes from classical verse describing spring at its most serene, the air warm and the light clear. Here that brightness is carried in a large floral design woven into fine wool as a two-tone jacquard, the blooms drawn in one shade against the ground and reversing on the other face, so a single cloth turns from flower to field as it moves.
