In the Chinese imagination, the dragon and the phoenix are the two most revered mythical creatures, each the sovereign of its own domain. Together they form one of the oldest and most powerful auspicious pairings in Chinese culture. Here, each crest rises from a ring of natural Hetian jade, the gold figure set against the smooth, translucent stone like a guardian emerging from still water.

• The Dragon: Sovereign of water, wind, and rain, the dragon represents supreme authority, strength, and the blessing of heaven. It is the highest emblem of power in the Chinese canon, long associated with protection and the turning of fortune.
• The Phoenix: Sovereign of the skies and ruler among birds, the phoenix represents renewal, virtue, and grace. It is said to appear only in times of peace and prosperity, carrying the meaning of rebirth and enduring good fortune.
• The Jade Ring: The pendant centres on a ring of natural Hetian jade, shaped in the form of the peace buckle (平安扣), a classical Chinese motif symbolising safety, wholeness, and the smooth passage through life. In Chinese tradition, jade is believed to carry and protect the spirit of the wearer.
