Ruelle Jade and Pearl Drop Earrings

This design draws on the Chinese emblem of the ruyi (如意), the S-curved sceptre whose name means "as you wish," long given as a token of blessings, good fortune, and wishes fulfilled. Here a small ruyi-form clover is set with a warm cabochon of natural Hetian jade (和田玉), and a teardrop freshwater pearl falls softly below.

Care

Keep away from water, perfume, and prolonged sunlight. Store in a soft pouch or jewellery box when not in use. Wipe gently with a dry cloth after wear. Freshwater pearls are soft and porous, so let perfume and hairspray settle before wearing, and jade is a natural stone, so avoid knocks against hard surfaces.
