The peony has long been the flower of wealth and honour (富贵花), crowned in classical China as the king of flowers and carried through poetry and palace gardens as a wish for prosperity and good fortune. Here it blooms across fine Inner Mongolian wool, its petals worked in raised embroidery so the flower seems to open from the cloth itself. The name 富贵花开 speaks of riches coming into bloom, an abundance to wrap around the shoulders.

How to Wear
At 200 x 70cm, this is as much a shawl as a scarf, and it wears both ways. Draped open across the shoulders, it frames an outfit and lets the embroidered peony fall along the front. Looped once at the neck, it sits full and soft against a coat on cooler days. Worn over a qipao, a knit, or tailoring, it carries the same quiet formality, and the deeper tones lend themselves naturally to festive and celebratory dressing.
