The name comes from a line by Bai Juyi (白居易), in which a revered master needs plant no flowers before his hall, for his peaches and plums, his students, already bloom across the world (令公桃李满天下，何用堂前更种花). This mirror takes its design from a Ming dynasty green jade inlay carved with twin magpies and peaches (青玉双鹊桃实纹嵌件) held in the Palace Museum. Ripe peaches and blossoming branches wind around the face, with butterflies drawn to the spring wind, carrying a wish for fragrant years and a life of long, untroubled joy.
