Lotus Fragrance Jade Tassel Hairpin

The lotus (莲花) rises clean from the water to bloom untouched by the mud below, which is why it has long stood in Chinese tradition for purity, grace, and quiet strength. This is a buyao (步摇), a hair ornament made to sway gently with the wearer's steps. An enamel lotus crowns the pin, and a natural Hetian jade drop trembles below on a fine chain.
