Jade Rabbit and Plum Blossom Hairpin

The jade rabbit (玉兔) is the companion of the moon goddess Chang'e in Chinese legend, said to sit beneath the cassia tree pounding the elixir of immortality. It has long stood for longevity, good fortune, and gentle grace. Here a small rabbit is carved from natural Hetian jade and set among a spray of enamel plum blossoms, with a jade tassel swinging below.

Care

Keep away from water, perfume, and prolonged sunlight. Store in a soft pouch or jewellery box when not in use. Wipe gently with a dry cloth after wear. The enamel is delicate, so avoid knocks against hard surfaces.
