Bamboo Shadow Jade Tassel Hairpin

The name 竹影疏, "sparse bamboo shadows," evokes the thin shadow slender bamboo casts in soft light. In Chinese tradition, bamboo stands for integrity, resilience, and modest grace, bending in the storm yet never breaking, which is why it is counted among the "four gentlemen" of the scholar's garden. This hairpin takes the bamboo as its whole form: a jointed pin topped with a small segment of green jade (碧玉) and a fine gold tassel.
