The name 如意芳菲 speaks of blossoms flourishing just as one wishes, an old wish for beauty and good fortune to unfold in abundance. Here that wish is embroidered across fine Inner Mongolian wool, sprays of flowers raised petal by petal and lit at their centres with crystal and gold beadwork, so the blooms seem to catch the light as they open from the cloth. It is the most embellished piece in the collection, finished with a handmade butterfly frog closure at the shoulder.

Bead-and-thread embroidery: the blossoms are worked in dense, dimensional stitching and set with crystal and gold beadwork at their hearts, with fine metallic-thread detailing through the leaves, luminous and raised against the wool.
Handmade butterfly frog closure: a traditional Chinese knotted fastening (盘扣) shaped as a butterfly and finished with a jade bead, letting the shawl sit gracefully closed at the shoulder.
Premium Inner Mongolian wool: spun from fine wool raised on the pristine pastures of Xilingol and Tongliao, within one of China's core fine-wool regions, for a soft and delicate hand.
Integrated fine-twisted fringe: the tasselled ends are twisted as one with the body of the shawl, falling in a natural, even drape.
How to Wear
At 200 x 70cm, this is a generous shawl. Fasten the butterfly frog at the shoulder to wear it closed like a wrap, the beaded blooms sitting toward the front, or leave it open and draped for a softer line. It settles beautifully over a qipao, a knit, or tailoring, and the embellishment lends itself naturally to weddings, celebrations, and formal occasions.
